When we founded IronFire Athletics, we set out to cultivate a community of strong, like minded people who are constantly striving to for progress - to provide them with the best coaches, a spacious facility and all of the tools they need to become the best version of themselves through General Physical Preparedness (GPP). 

Finding a place you love to train at everyday is a key factor in adopting a fit and healthy lifestyle (for good this time) - but it can also be really difficult. We understand that it's going to take more than a day or two to know if whether you've found the perfect place to train. 

We have the best Fundamentals program in our region, consisting of 18 1-on-1 Sessions where we cover the foundational movements of GPP, mobility, safety, the lingo, nutrition and much more. New athletes will be integrated into the regular Group Training sessions with confidence and a good base of strength.  We also have extensive experience training competitive athletes. Our members have brought home powerlifting and weightlifting medals and we sent one of our youth members to compete with grown men at the 2013 SoCal CrossFit Games Regionals!

Our Facility

At IronFire Athletics, you'll have full access to our spacious 3000 sq ft. facility stocked with all of the equipment, rigs and apparatus you need to get fit and have fun doing it. We also have a separate weight room designed specifically for Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting and strongman.

  • I started at CrossFit Poway in January of 2011 at age 53, although I have been a runner and mountain biker for 20 years I had no upper body strength. CrossFit changed all that. By building up my muscle strength in the upper body, the  soreness in my right shoulder has gone away. My favorite part of CrossFit is that the workouts change daily. Jason is great and the other people in the classes are very friendly. You never get tired of people telling you how in shape you look!

  • Ammmmmmmmaaaaaazzzzzing! Whether you're absolutely brand new (like myself) to CrossFit or experienced, this box is great! I've been going for about a month now. I'm still very new to CrossFit, I'm still learning, but I really like the way this place is run. They scale everything down based on your level of fitness! If you can't do some of the exercises you'll practice something that will eventually get you there, you'll be working your way up. The instructors take the time to teach everyone proper movement in each class and review things before the actual workout begins.   • I was very skeptical about CrossFit before joining and I wasn't sure I'd be comfortable working out with males. I was accustomed to my all-female boot camp at Ladies First Fitness in Lancaster, CA-and well moving to San Diego had me looking for a new gym. My husband decided to check out CrossFit Poway and was hooked. . . After a month of attending the classes and raving about the workouts--I had to join.
